Introducing a new half-hour catechetical dramedy from the Offices of Youth and Campus Ministry and Communications, coming this fall to ABC 23.

We are currently developing a production staff and casting the following parts:
Jael Campbell-Jael is the show's main character. She is an independent young woman who is a junior in high school. Her mother abandoned her family when she was younger, and currently lives with her Dad and older brother, Joe. She is devoutly Catholic and has a strong faith; however, Jael is not without her questions. She is smart, witty, athletic and has a penchant for sarcasm. Much of the show will be filmed through her eyes.
Lupe Bautista-Lupe is one of Jael's closest friends and also a junior in high school. She's a first generation American, as her parents immigrated to Johnstown from Mexico before she was born. She is a very sweet, strong young woman with a vulnerable side she doesn't let show very often.
Katie Woods-Katie is Jael's other closest friend. She is the skeptic of the group. Although she has been raised Catholic, she finds it difficult to reconcile science and religion. Her faith (or lack thereof) would seem to put her at odds with her friends, but no one would ever question her kindness or loyalty. She could easily be an example of someone who "lives" the gospel, but does not "believe" it.
Joe Campbell-Joe is Jael's older brother and a junior in college. He has a very logical mind and is majoring in mathematics at the local Catholic university. He also has a strong Catholic faith. Despite the usual family quarrels, Jael feels she can turn to Joe for advice and guidance.
Mike Azarias-Mike is Jael’s closest “guy friend.” He has been friends with Jael and Katie since they were in diapers. He has an adventurous spirit and would do anything for either of the girls. His love of adventure and outgoing nature has been known to get him into some difficult situations, but somehow he always manages to get himself out of them.
David Cohen-David is a three season jock, playing football, basketball and baseball. He is also dating Lupe. Lupe and David share a special bond, because Lupe is the sole Hispanic in most of her classes; whereas David is the only Jewish student in the Catholic high school they attend.
