Remember the White House taking Fox News to task? The Obama administration accused Fox of being too far to the right. It strongly suggested that the other media outlets stay in line (presumably remaining to the far left) and snub Fox to the extent of exclusion. That did not happen, for which the other outlets should be given credit.

Controlling opinion and pushing agendas, while excluding others appears to be a pattern with this administration. No one else’s opinion seems to matter. This can be seen with the bailouts, as well as with the health care reform proposal.

The way that the Communist had gained control in Central and Eastern Europe was to control expression of thought and what the media could report. It is the same tactic that dictators employ anywhere. While I do not wish to infer something of that magnitude happening in our nation, the current policies in Washington do concern me.

History is a great teacher.
