Schedule, Various Parishes
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered
at various parishes throughout the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese
during the Easter Season. Bishop Joseph began confirming
young people at various parishes on Thursday, March 27.
The final three Confirmation Masses are: May 8 at the Cathedral
of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona; May 9 at Saint John Gualbert
Cathedral in Johnstown; and May 11 at Saint Benedict Parish
in Johnstown (Geistown).
May 19 & 21: Foundation
Receptions, Various Locations
The second and third of three regional receptions
hosted by the Independent Catholic Foundation for the Diocese
of Altoona-Johnstown will be held at the U.S. Hotel in Hollidaysburg
on May 19 and the Nittany Lion Inn in State College on May
21. Each will begin at 6 p.m. The receptions are designed
to thank the supporters of the Independent Catholic Foundation
as well as to introduce and educate clergy, lay leaders,
and others who may be interested in its mission. The 90-minute
reception will include food, drink, conversation, and a

May 28-30: Graduation Masses
for Diocesan High Schools
The Graduation Masses for the three Diocesan
High Schools will take place May 28-30 at various locations.
On Wednesday, May 28, Bishop Carroll High School graduates
will celebrate their Mass at DeGol Arena on the campus of
Saint Francis University, Loretto. Bishop Guilfoyle High
School's Graduation Mass will be held at the Cathedral of
the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona on Thursday, May 29. The
seniors from Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown will
have their diplomas conferred at Mass on Friday, May 30
at Saint Benedict Church in the Geistown section of the
city. Bishop Joseph will preside and celebrate all three
Mass for the graduates. Each Mass will begin at 7 p.m.
