The ultimate objective of the Office is to help people of the Diocese help others - often through charitable giving vehicles and development programs - and encourage individual consideration to the giving of time, talent and treasure to strengthen the message of Christ in our life as a Diocesan Church. Among its main initiatives are the Annual Catholic Appeal, Parish Stewardship, and the high school development activities at Bishop Carroll, Bishop Guilfoyle, and Bishop McCort high schools. The Office also manages development activities for Diocesan college campus ministries, and provides assistance when requested to parishes planning capital and building campaigns. The Office deferred giving for interested donors through the use of bequests, charitable gift annuities and trusts, insurance and other planned giving vehicles through the independent Foundation for the Diocese.
